Can Night Fall Again?

   The Holocaust put a bad taste in many people’s mouths because of the trauma it put on millions of Jews around Europe.  There have also been other mass killings since the Holocaust, such as “the lost boys” of Sudan and the killing of Tutsi and Hutus in Rwanda in 1944.

   It is fact that the Hutu have lived in Rwanda since 1000 A.D.  The Tutsi lived in the Horn of Africa, also known as Ethiopia.  The Tutsi began to invade in on the Hutu in Rwanda around the 16^th century.  Europeans came to find out that the Tutsi’s physically looked more like Europeans, so they felt that the Tutsi’s could very well rule the Hutu.  The Tutsi then began to take over the Hutu, but they didn’t allow this to happen because they fought back!

   Can Night fall again?  In my opinion, of course it can!  There have already been ethnic cleansing and mass murders in other parts of the world since the Holocaust.  Also, there are genocides occurring today including one in Darfur, a region in Sudan.  Once one person changes a community’s opinion on someone or a group of people, it can cause many problems leading to death.  The unforgettable night of horror can happen again!
